Getting Started with Pompoir

People with a penis can just grab and pump for three minutes and they have a mind-blowing orgasm. No "getting out of your head," or $100 vibrators, or getting in touch with your feelings, or getting to know your body, just get some lotion and they're golden. Why? Why am I in my 30s and I've only had real full-body orgasms where I actually feel relaxed and satisfied after like three times as wet dreams? — u/Creative_Cry8305
I related to this viscerally when I first read it. In fact, I had never had an orgasm so it was easy to feel resentful or spurn the entire spiritual journey I had started.
Thank god I found pompoir when I did. It changed my life and that is not hyperbole. And so began this site: mostly so I can keep a consistent practice, but also to spread the good word.
What is Pompoir?
Pompoir is the practice of building deliberate control over the pelvic floor and the inside walls of the vaginal canal. It can teach you how to lift, hold, squeeze, pulse, and release with more intention, which gives you a felt sense of extreme pleasure instead of hoping those motions happen automatically.
Anecdotally, I’ve seen women who master it experience the following:
- Enhanced orgasms (for both the woman performing it and the man). They aren’t just better, they’re completely different.
- Enhanced pleasure during penetration due to overall higher sensitivity
- Increased libido (even after childbirth or menopause)
- Faster arousal time
- Stronger relationship <3
And, most importantly…
- Increased confidence, inside and out of the bedroom
Before You Begin
Just like any other workout, learning pompoir can feel daunting – especially if the world of “vaginal gymnastics” is new to you. And make no mistake, this is a workout. When training Pompoir, what we’re doing is training the muscles surrounding the vaginal canal, in order to move them in a plethora of different ways to make sex feel incredible.
To help with this, before we dig in to the “What”, it’s important to lay some groundwork so that your head can be in the right place as you pursue your sexual goals.
Learning pompoir will expose you to different positions, angles, and at different speeds, rhythms, and levels of intensity. This will give you a pretty profound understanding of what you like the most.
There are over 36 moves in Pompoir, but really 5 core building blocks to master.
- Foundation work: short-and-fast-contractions, long-contractions
- Control work: squeeze-and-pull, full-squeeze
- Side and rhythm work: side-isolation, sucking-and-pulsing
- Regulation and corodination work: long-contractions, milking
- Strength and speed work: the-lock, the-whip
Be patient with yourself
Change takes time. If you find yourself going through this wiki and feeling overwhelmed, that there’s too much to learn, too much time to invest – take a step back and breathe. It’s a fitness like any other: consistency is key.
Go in with consent and calm
If you plan to bring these skills into partnered sex later, remember that solo training and partnered use are not the same thing. Solo practice comes first. It is easier to learn what a movement feels like without also handling pleasure, nerves, or somebody else's pace.
You do not need a partner to train pompoir. You also do not need to rush these skills into sex to "prove" they work.
Keep the awareness mindset
You are learning coordination, not trying to prove toughness. Stronger is not always better. Cleaner reps, steady breathing, and the ability to tell one cue from another are more useful than forcing intensity too early.
